Everton FC

Everton FC are a football club in the English Premier League. They play their home games at Goodison Park. Having only ever spent 4 seasons outside of the English top-flight, they hold the record for most campaigns in the top division. 

Everton's nickname is the Toffees. In the club's early days, they found themselves located close to 2 toffee shops; Ma Bushell's Ye Ancient Everton Toffee House, and later Mother Noblett's Toffee Shop. The former invented the "Toffee Lady" tradition, in which a girl would walk around Goodison Park during matches selling toffee to supporters, while the latter invented the Everton Mint sweet still available to this day.

📜 Everton History

Based in Liverpool, Everton were founded in 1878 as St. Domingo's FC as the sports team for St. Domingo Methodist New Connexion Chapel's congregation. 

The club were renamed Everton (after the local area) the following year as people from outside the congregation wished to join, and in 1888 they were among the founding members of the Football League.

The Toffees have enjoyed success over the years including 9 top-flight titles, most recently in 1987, and 5 FA Cups, most recently in 1995. Everton have also picked up 1 European honour in the form of the 1985 European Cup Winners' Cup.
