Located 8 km to the north of Newcastle upon Tyne, there are a multitude of ways to travel to Newcastle Racecourse as it is ideally situated in the North East of England. If driving, follow brown and white tourist board signs bearing a horse and rider from the A1, A19, and main approach roads to Newcastle. There are also great public transport links.

There is ample free parking available onsite for all raceday and event guests. Owners, trainers, and jockeys have a dedicated car park, opposite the main entrance.

Disabled parking is also located in close proximity to the racecourse entrance.

A taxi from Newcastle City Centre/Newcastle Central Station will cost approximately £10.

Numbers 43 and 44 leave from Haymarket Bus Station in Newcastle City Centre every few minutes and arrive at a stop just outside the racecourse road entrance.

There is a free shuttle bus service on Saturday racedays that runs from Four Lane Ends & Regent Centre Metro Stations to the racecourse, beginning an hour and a half before racing running till the first race time, and then returns from the racecourse to the same metro stations directly after racing.

Newcastle Central Station is the closest main line station, and it's approximately 15 minutes and £10 to the racecourse by taxi. Regent Centre and Four Lane Ends Metro Stations are situated 2 miles from the racecourse and a shuttle bus operates Saturday fixtures only.

Helicopters can land at the racecourse. Please contact the racecourse directly for details.

Within walking distance of the racecourse there is High Gosforth Park and High Gosforth Park Golf Club, as well as a small selection of eateries and shops. For a broader choice, take public transport or drive into the city centre.

Accommodation

Newcastle is a pretty affordable city to visit, meaning it’s easy to find cheap and cheerful accommodation if that’s what you prefer. However, as Newcastle is not a glamorous city, don’t expect to find too many high-end hotels.
